WHY MUSIC AT LA SIERRA UNIVERSITY The Department of Music is committed to providing a challenging and rewarding environment for our students to grow and develop artistically, intellectually, and professionally. Our faculty and staff support and provide opportunities for students to reach their potential through experiences in the academic setting, preparing them for higher levels of education, professional opportunities, and service.

The Department of Music offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in music, a Bachelor of Music degree with two areas of concentration, performance and music education, and a Bachelor of Science degree in music technology. The Bachelor of Arts degree is especially useful for students wanting to do a double major in a pre-professional course of study. A Minor in Music or Music Technology is also available. For those who have completed their undergraduate studies and would like to continue intensive studies, the Department of Music offers a Performer’s Certificate Program. The purpose of this program is to increase employment opportunities or proficiency in a concentration. Admission to this program is by audition only.
