Welcome to Cellar Door Books! We opened in October of 2012, and have served as Riverside’s independent bookstore for new books ever since. I can’t believe it’s been twelve years. Don’t worry; indie bookstores are coming back. People do read, people of all ages, and bookstores are important elements in an active, literate community.

We are located in the Mission Village shopping center across the parking lot from Sprouts, and we hope that you’ll find us here and take advantage of the expertise of our booksellers. You’ll find new books for all ages carefully curated by our well-read staff, frequent storytimes, a plethora of book clubs for readers of all kinds, and more!

Our store is a gathering place for our community, where long-time book lovers or new readers can come together. Besides our many, many book clubs, we host open mic nights, author signings, game nights, and other events. If you’re looking for a good book, feel free to ask a bookseller for a recommendation, take a peek at our Best “Cellars,” or browse the Indies Next picks, which are chosen each month by independent booksellers across the nation.
