This historic milestone marks 250 years since the founding of the United States and offers communities an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s history, celebrate its progress, and look toward the future.
Throughout 2026, Riverside will host a series of citywide activities, special events, and community programs that highlight the city’s rich history, culture, and civic pride. City departments, cultural institutions, and community organizations will work together to create meaningful opportunities for residents and visitors to participate in this national commemoration.
As part of this effort, the City will also advance initiatives such as Preserving Riverside’s Treasures, which focuses on protecting and restoring historic sites that reflect Riverside’s unique heritage.
